Hydromea’s LUMA wireless system provides real-time data during the installation of a wellhead foundation in a TOTAL drilling project

Hydromea’s LUMA, a wireless high-speed underwater communication system, was successfully deployed by Rever Offshore during an installation of a subsea wellhead foundation for Total drilling in the North Sea in February 2019. LUMA was integrated with Ashtead Technology’s AMS+ (Autonomous Monitoring System) as a primary data telemetry modem to allow real-time data to be sent topside and displayed on a computer with remarkably low latency.

Hydromea Reduces Risk and Improves Speed in a Subsea Manifold Installation

Hydromea’s LUMA, a wireless high-speed underwater communication system, was successfully deployed by a leading subsea operator, during a subsea manifold installation project in the North Sea in November 2018.  LUMA was integrated with Ashtead Technology’s AMS+ (Autonomous Monitoring System) to deliver fast and reliable remote communication of heading, pitch, roll and other essential data in real time via a work class ROV to the construction vessel.

Hydromea receives large order for its LUMA 250LP modem

Hydromea just received a large order for its LUMA 250LP optical modem. The customer is Germany’s Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (AWI). In order to verify the technical specifications and ensure that the modem can be easily integrated into AWI’s infrastructure, an extensive set of tests was carried out at AWI in Bremerhaven which included a depth rating test to 6000m. The LUMA 250LP’s very low power consumption and compact size make it particularly well suited for long term deployments on battery-powered infrastructure. Hydromea will be demonstrating the modem at Ocean Business 2017 in Southampton.
