Your Responsibilities

Hydromea is an innovative underwater robotics and communication company with a Swiss HQ and a UK-based subsidiary. The company disrupts inspections of submerged assets with a portable underwater inspection robotics platform. This solution reduces cost, increases safety of operations and helps driving down CO2 emissions. Our key markets are global industrial water onshore and marine assets offshore. Hydromea looks to develop its global technical sales team for remote inspections of submerged assets. The applicant shall possess energy and enthusiasm to perform hands-on technical introductions, pilots and trials, tests and troubleshooting, driving sales and customer relationships at a technical level, as well as help establishing the company’s local and global brand awareness. This role is at an intersection between the company’s engineering and commercial teams, making it an important liaising partner between internal teams and external stakeholders. While limited offshore trips might be required for technology introductions, the successful candidate will primarily work onshore. The applicant shall represent the company at industry events and be ready to accept extensive travel globally.

• Perform drone trials and pilots at customer locations worldwide
• Serve as a market-facing representative for Hydromea’s EXRAY™ robotic inspection system, organising and attending international events, conferences, workshops, webinars, customer pilots and trials to drive awareness and customer acceptance of the technology
Maintain deep technical understanding of the platform (both hardware and software)
• Collect customer feedback and work with the engineering team to continuously adapt technology to the market needs
• Translate technical product specifications into value selling points during demonstrations
• Organise and manage hands-on customer training of the technology
• Perform routine system testing of new features
• Provide post-sales customer support and perform maintenance/repair of the robotic fleet
• Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with existing and new clients
• Run the sales process through a CRM and be capable to secure sales orders

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus on robotics, mechatronics, mechanical or electrical engineering or computer science
• Prior cross-cultural technical sales experience as a field engineer with aerial, ground or underwater drones/robots
• Drone piloting experience and ability to understand new systems quickly and to grasp complex frameworks
• Familiarity with Linux and the routine use of the command line
• Knowledge of non-destructive testing equipment and procedures is a plus
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and provide immediate solutions for potential technical challenges on the spot
• Excellent communication skills in English – both written and verbal are a must
• Strong customer-oriented service attitude, analytical and interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel internationally for up to 75% of the time, occasionally also on weekends (travel on weekends is compensated with off days on weekdays)
• A professional appearance and a valid driver’s license
• Exceptional tenacity, positive attitude and solution solving skills
