Gender Equality Policy

1. Policy Purpose and Scope

The purpose of this Gender Equality Policy is to establish Hydromea’s commitment to promoting gender equality within the workplace. This policy applies to all employees, contractors, partners, and stakeholders associated with Hydromea.

2. Definitions

Gender Equality: The state in which access to rights or opportunities is unaffected by gender.

Discrimination: Any practice that denies individuals equal treatment based on their gender.

Harassment: Unwanted behavior of a verbal or physical nature that offends or humiliates an individual based on their gender.

3. Policy Statement

Hydromea is dedicated to creating an inclusive work environment where all employees are treated fairly and equitably regardless of their gender. We believe diversity enriches our workforce and enhances our ability to serve our clients effectively.

4. Objectives

  • To promote equal opportunities in recruitment, training, promotions, and pay for all genders.

  • To create awareness about gender discrimination and harassment within the organization.

  • To support work-life balance initiatives that accommodate the diverse needs of our workforce.

5. Implementation Strategies

  • Recruitment Practices: Implement unbiased recruitment strategies aimed at increasing diversity among applicants. 

  • Training Programs: Conduct regular training sessions on diversity, equity, inclusion, unconscious bias, and sexual harassment prevention for all employees at every level.

  • Mentorship Programs: Establish mentorship programs specifically designed for underrepresented genders to foster professional development.

6. Reporting Mechanisms

Employees who experience or witness incidents of discrimination or harassment are encouraged to report such incidents through designated channels:

  •  Speak directly with a supervisor/manager;

  •  Contact the Human Resources (HR) department;

  •  Utilize an anonymous reporting system if available.

All reports will be treated confidentially and investigated promptly without retaliation against anyone who raises concerns in good faith.

7. Monitoring and Evaluation

Hydromea will monitor the effectiveness of this policy through regular employee surveys regarding workplace inclusivity as well as analysis of hiring practices and promotion statistics related by gender representation.

8. Review Process

This policy will be reviewed annually by HR in collaboration with management teams ensuring its relevance reflects current laws as well as organizational goals regarding diversity & inclusion practices.

9. Compliance with Laws

Hydromea commits itself fully complying with labor laws concerning equal employment opportunity standards relevant within each jurisdiction we operate within globally aiming always towards best practices in DEI matters.
